10 Things You Should Never Say To A Girl On The First Date

Monday, July 28th, 2008

Going on a first date can be nerve racking for a guy. After all, it isn’t very good to have a girl go out on a first date with you and then have her reject you. She may not reject you at all but your fear of rejection when combined with the nerves and the excitement of your first date could lead to all sorts of things coming out of your mouth that that you wish you had never said.

First dates can lead to rejection if you offend your date through saying any number of things, but the top 10 things never to say are listed below for ease of reference:

  1. You look so much better than you normally do.
  2. Do you sleep with someone on the first date?
  3. My ex says…
  4. You remind me of my mum.
  5. I would ask you back to mine but my parents will be in bed.
  6. But you’re a girl!
  7. I’m a nice guy, honest.
  8. My therapist says…
  9. I usually go for pretty girls but I really like you.
  10. Wow, look at the tits on her!

Any variation of the above is a massive no-no. If you steer clear of these then you’ll be fine!

For the 10 thinks you should never say to a guy, check in later this week!

Is There Ever A Right Time To Say What You Feel?

Wednesday, July 9th, 2008

Flicking through the agony aunt and uncle columns both online and in the newspapers can be an enlightening experience. They say that you don’t realise how good you have it until you read of someone else’s problems, whether in the dating arena or in another area of life. I did read an interesting letter in one of those columns last week though and thought I’d touch on it here in a dating capacity.

The letter was from a woman that wanted to know if she should tell her boyfriend she loved him. They’d been together for 6 months and she had the feeling that he might not be receptive. The agony aunt was a little evasive in her answer, saying that she’d know when the time is right. I have to say I agree with her – you do know when the time is right but usually the first weeks of dating or a relationship aren’t it. Another letter below dealt with a girlfriend scarpering because her boyfriend had told her he loved her when drunk after 5 days.

5 days of dating is nowhere near enough to know how you really feel about someone. I’m not saying that love at first sight doesn’t exist because it may well do, but telling someone that you really love him or her after a few days could be a problem. It takes weeks, or even months to get to know someone properly so don’t rush into anything!
