Falling In Love Via Online Dating… And How To Make It Last!

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008

Online dating is one of the biggest matchmakers in the world at minute. People from all over the world are logging on to the World Wide Web in the hope of finding love. Email after email is sent every single day from a person that believes his or her true love is on the other end of an email account. These messages zip backwards and forwards as people get to know one another, but can true love really spring from online dating? And if it does, can it really stand the test of time?

Many people fall intensely in love via Internet chat rooms and emails every day and tend to fall a lot quicker for someone than they would had they met the recipient at a club, in a bar or through work. This is because it is easier to fantasize if you have an image of someone in your head rather than one that was based on truth. Online dating is notorious for this because dreaming about love keeps many people alive, and the dream version of love is often a lot more idealistic than realistic.

However, when you do actually get to meet up with someone that you met via online dating, you may find that things are moving along quickly, a little too quickly. The best way to make a relationship that began online last is to take it slowly when you finally do meet the person in question. You may already be in love with them but there is a world of difference between an email and a real life date. Simply stick to the information that you have exchanged over the Internet for the first date.

Go to dinner or attend a festival. It should be something that gives you chance to talk but with many other people around. There is a safety aspect to this too but the main thing is that you simply go over the ground you have already covered but face to face. By taking it slowly, you get the chance to formulate a real life opinion about that person as well as living the fantasy in a certain way. It makes the transition from online dating to real life dating that bit easier.

The next step away from online dating towards true love is doing what any other person would do after meeting someone the conventional way – go on one or two dates a week for the first few weeks and then slowly increase the amount of time you are spending with each other. Meanwhile, you should carry on living your normal life. The main reason why online dating relationships fail is because it consumes people and fails to live up to expectations. The second reason is because the relationships often move to fast. You can avoid both of these problems by following the advice above as well as finding love!

How Not To Date, Big Brother Style!

Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008

It’s impossible to avoid the fact that Big Brother 9 is on TV at the minute. Even if you don’t watch it, you can hardly miss all the gossip because it’s making the front page of the newspapers and the new headlines as well. With spitting housemates, bullies and he arguments, it is hard not to get caught up in it, but it can give you a few hints and tips on how NOT to go about dating!

Dating in the Big Brother house seems to be a given every year, but this year’s a little different. Dale is lusting after Jen (although I’m not entirely sure why) while she’s flirting with Stu! It’s definitely all go on there right now. So what can you learn about dating from it?

Well, first things first, it just goes to show that being too full on or playing it cool don’t work. Dale pussyfooted around Jen until Stu entered the house and it’s got him nowhere. If he’d have been completely honest from the start, he might not be walking around heartbroken at the minute. However, he might feel a little differently about her when he comes out of the house. Any feelings that you might have for someone may well change if the person you know isn’t being up front about who he or she is. At least if you’re honest from the start of any dating relationships, you’ll know for sure whether someone likes the real you or not!
