Making The Most Of UK Dating Chat

Friday, October 31st, 2008

With the advent of dating online came more accessibility for those do not otherwise have time to date. It is a well known fact that you can contact people from all over the world to organize dates. However, it is a necessity to talk to potential dates before actually meeting them, which is where UK dating chat comes in. UK dating chat is a fantastic real time messaging service on most dating websites that allows you to speak to people that you think you may like when it is convenient and yet many people do not make the most of it.

It is easy to make the most of UK dating chat when you know how and the following tips may just help you. Use them as rules of etiquette if you like to ensure a safe but happy experience of UK online dating:

  1. Firstly, never reveal any personal details about yourself, even when using UK dating chat. You will be surprised about just how much you can reveal without thinking. As such, you should read and re-read everything you write before clicking on the send button. Of course, very few people out there would use your details for underlying immoral motives but you never know so always play it safe.
  2. Write down what you want to find out about your potential date from UK dating chat. Go in with an open mind and ask questions to see whether or not they are compatible with your viewpoints. You will be able to tell right away if they are or not from the answers you get so do not be afraid to probe.
  3. There is not need to be nervous so do not be. You need to relax and chat as if you were talking to an old friend. The person you are chatting to cannot see you so do not sweat the small stuff. If you make a typing error or something comes out wrong then just laugh about it and apologise.
  4. Do a little research before you commence UK dating chat with someone. Look at their profile and take a few notes. That way you will have common ground and something to talk about if a silence descends on proceedings.

All of the above will definitely help you to make the most of any and all UK dating chat that you undertake. It is not easy to build up a rapport with someone via the Internet so prepare in advance and then just relax and let it flow!

How To Make Online Dating Work For You

Thursday, October 9th, 2008

There seems to be two distinct opinions about online dating in existence today. The first is that it is a fantastic service that caters to the modern man and woman that does not have the time to conventionally date or wises to screen dates first. The second is more negative and seems to imply that online dating is in fact a scam or worse, a marketplace for the sad, lonely and weird. No matter which camp you fall into now, if you ever have a good experience on a dating site then you will perceive it in a whole new light.

In actual fact, your online dating experience depends on what you make of it. You have to make the experience work for you as opposed to the other way around. You should be proactive and cease the opportunity presented to you with both hands. The tips below will help you to make the most of online dating and find exactly what you are looking for at the same time.

  1. Choose A Positive Approach – Never join a dating site thinking it will be a disaster. Online dating will be a disaster for you if you take that approach because you will not allow yourself to enjoy the experience. Look upon it as a bit of fun that could lead to some lasting friendships and perhaps a little love. Amy negativity or contempt you feel for others on there will shine right through and you will not get anything from the experience at all.
  2. Keep An Open Mind – Never judge a book by its cover, and never judge the person you meet on the site via one email or conversation. Take the time to get to know the individual a little before you make up your mind about someone. Everyone wants to make a good first impression and so will be nervous. Allow at least a couple of conversations before you judge.
  3. Take It At Your Own Pace – Do not rush into anything. If you do not feel ready to concentrate on one person then do not do it. If you wish to keep your options open then say you are looking for friendship rather than a relationship. Never commit to anything before you are ready because it really could burn you later if you do.
  4. Remain Mysterious – Only ever reveal the details about yourself that you are happy for individuals that you have never met before to know. If you do not want to use your date of birth then stick to the month and year. If you want to be known by a nickname then you can be. Never give your address or phone number out at all. This is all for your own safety as much as for the sake of the experience. Just relax and enjoy it but never put yourself in danger.

10 Online Dating Tips For That Crucial First Meeting

Friday, August 8th, 2008

We have all been there and know how it feels – the butterflies in the stomach, the nervous laugh and the hope that it will lead to something more. If you have yet to guess it, the above refers to the first meeting you have with someone you met via online dating. Online dating is much easier in some ways because you already know a person before you meet face to face. However, that does not stop you being nervous and making the same mistakes as you would if you had met someone in a more traditional manner.

The ten short and sweet tips below for a first meeting after online dating should really help you to enjoy yourself and relax so take a look to maximize your chances of success.

  1. Start As You Mean To Go On – Greet your online dating date with a big smile and a few words about how great it is to meet them, a bit like you would an old friend. This will put both of you at your ease a little.
  2. Meet During The Day – There are more things to do during the day than at night. You can visit places of historical interest or go for a walk around public gardens. Those types of dates are more interesting and give you more to talk about.
  3. Keep Busy – Having a bus date is better than having dinner because there is less of a chance that there will be an awkward silence. Those are always best avoided.
  4. Go Over Common Ground – If you have been online dating then the likelihood is that you already know a little about each other. This gives you a chance to talk about subjects you already feel safe with.
  5. Do Not Try To Be Funny – Rubbish jokes have no place on a first date so leave them at home. Having a laugh is one thing but stunning your date into silence is another.
  6. Avoid Talking Too Much – Just think about it this way. When online dating you take turns to talk via instant messages so do not talk over your date when you finally meet up.
  7. Go Alone – Taking a friend is not the best way to get online dating in person off to a good start. Do meet in public and tell people where you are for your own safety but taking someone may upset the other person.
  8. Stay Away From Personal Details – Do not talk about your home address, where you work or anything else of that nature. This is to protect your safety via online dating. If you avoid these subject you will relax more because there will be no pressure to disclose information.
  9. Avoid Debating – Politics, religion, feminism, ethnic issues and so on should all be off the menu so that neither of you get yourself into an awkward position that you cannot recover from. You do not talk about that on online dating so do not do it on a first date.
  10. Be Yourself – The golden rule and it speaks for itself.

Online Dating: How Old Is Too Old?

Thursday, July 10th, 2008

There seems to be a preconception of the dating world today, by both the old and young alike, that dating is only for those below the age of forty or so. Of course, the figure alters from person to person but you get the idea! Online dating especially is viewed as a young person’s thing, but is it really? Is online dating acceptable for people of any age or is there a point at which old becomes too old?

The short and sweet answer is no. At no age are you too old to date. If you do not want to date when you hit a certain age than that is totally your choice, but you should not let age put you off if you still want to date. Online dating is a wonderful thing in that it has a whole host of benefits for you no matter how old you are. It can open up the whole world to you, literally.

Some of the reasons outlined below draw on the benefits online dating to explain just why you are never too old to date:

  • Love can blossom at any age – Love does not discriminate, whether you are old or young. If you meet someone that you have that spark with then age does not matter at all. This is why you are never too old to use online dating. The heart and soul are separate to the head. It does not matter whether you believe that you are too old or not, your heart will contradict your head if you meet that special someone.
  • You can meet likeminded people however old you are – Your interests and hobbies can be shared by anyone, and it is this that gives you something to talk about. To date someone successfully, you have to have something to talk about and online dating can help you to sort out the people that you do have things in common with from those you do not. As a result, you can use online dating to save time, which is essential as you get older.
  • Dating can also provide companionship and friendship – So maybe you do not want to date. If you were deeply in love and lost that person then this would be understandable, but seniors use online dating services all the time to find friendship and companionship rather than love. You can meet new friends and chat until your heart is content. You can find whatever you want online so make the most of the services at your disposal.
  • If you can master technology, you can do anything you like irrespective of age – No further explanation needed! If you can master the Internet, you can do anything you put your mind to, including online dating.

Falling In Love Via Online Dating… And How To Make It Last!

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008

Online dating is one of the biggest matchmakers in the world at minute. People from all over the world are logging on to the World Wide Web in the hope of finding love. Email after email is sent every single day from a person that believes his or her true love is on the other end of an email account. These messages zip backwards and forwards as people get to know one another, but can true love really spring from online dating? And if it does, can it really stand the test of time?

Many people fall intensely in love via Internet chat rooms and emails every day and tend to fall a lot quicker for someone than they would had they met the recipient at a club, in a bar or through work. This is because it is easier to fantasize if you have an image of someone in your head rather than one that was based on truth. Online dating is notorious for this because dreaming about love keeps many people alive, and the dream version of love is often a lot more idealistic than realistic.

However, when you do actually get to meet up with someone that you met via online dating, you may find that things are moving along quickly, a little too quickly. The best way to make a relationship that began online last is to take it slowly when you finally do meet the person in question. You may already be in love with them but there is a world of difference between an email and a real life date. Simply stick to the information that you have exchanged over the Internet for the first date.

Go to dinner or attend a festival. It should be something that gives you chance to talk but with many other people around. There is a safety aspect to this too but the main thing is that you simply go over the ground you have already covered but face to face. By taking it slowly, you get the chance to formulate a real life opinion about that person as well as living the fantasy in a certain way. It makes the transition from online dating to real life dating that bit easier.

The next step away from online dating towards true love is doing what any other person would do after meeting someone the conventional way – go on one or two dates a week for the first few weeks and then slowly increase the amount of time you are spending with each other. Meanwhile, you should carry on living your normal life. The main reason why online dating relationships fail is because it consumes people and fails to live up to expectations. The second reason is because the relationships often move to fast. You can avoid both of these problems by following the advice above as well as finding love!

How Not To Date, Big Brother Style!

Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008

It’s impossible to avoid the fact that Big Brother 9 is on TV at the minute. Even if you don’t watch it, you can hardly miss all the gossip because it’s making the front page of the newspapers and the new headlines as well. With spitting housemates, bullies and he arguments, it is hard not to get caught up in it, but it can give you a few hints and tips on how NOT to go about dating!

Dating in the Big Brother house seems to be a given every year, but this year’s a little different. Dale is lusting after Jen (although I’m not entirely sure why) while she’s flirting with Stu! It’s definitely all go on there right now. So what can you learn about dating from it?

Well, first things first, it just goes to show that being too full on or playing it cool don’t work. Dale pussyfooted around Jen until Stu entered the house and it’s got him nowhere. If he’d have been completely honest from the start, he might not be walking around heartbroken at the minute. However, he might feel a little differently about her when he comes out of the house. Any feelings that you might have for someone may well change if the person you know isn’t being up front about who he or she is. At least if you’re honest from the start of any dating relationships, you’ll know for sure whether someone likes the real you or not!
